This is a yellow variety of Scotch Bonnet pepper, a very hot pepper popular in Jamaica in the Caribbean.
It's a rare chili pepper that's still hard to find in Japan, and although it looks cute, it's amazingly spicy, at 100,000–350,000 SHU (SHU is a unit of spiciness), on par with the habanero.
At first glance, it may look like a scary pepper, but above all , it has a unique, fruity, delicious, enticing spiciness and flavor that is unique to Scotch bonnet.
Scotch bonnet is used to add spiciness to authentic Jamaican jerk chicken.

When the fruit ripens it turns from green to yellow, a vibrant Jamaican color.
The name is said to come from a Scottish hat.
